The Children’s March is an oratorio that tells the story of the Civil Rights Movement in the United States before and leading to the events of 1963 in Birmingham Alabama, which have become to be know as The Children’s March. The work was commissioned by Singing City on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the The Children’s March, and was premiered at the Philly Fringe Festival in 2013. The libretto is by Charlotte Blake Alston.
