With the support of various residencies, grants, and arts organizations, Bleckner has developed a unique approach to teaching songwriting and music creativity to children and adults. He has received three Community Partners grants from the American Composers Forum, and a Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation Artist As Catalyst Grant, and has served as the Songwriting Workshop Director with the Singing City in the Schools program from 2003 until the present. He is also currently on the roster of visiting artists for the Philadelphia Arts in Education Program. During the course of his outreach work, he has created a large body of children's songs for accompanied choir and/or solo voice. The following songs were developed with 4th grade students at the E.M.
